Have a whale of a time with your kids with “Whale Puzzle!” This activity trains your child to read patterns and practice their ABCs at the same time.

MATERIALS:
- Popsicle sticks
- Markers
- Paper
INSTRUCTIONS

Align the popsicle sticks and label the individual sticks with letters (e.g. A to K).

Draw a whale (or any picture your child is interested in) on the row of popsicle sticks.

Draw the same whale on a piece of paper.

Jumble up the popsicle sticks.

Ask your child to arrange them back by following the image on the piece of paper and by arranging the popsicle sticks according to the alphabet.

TIPS- Add a little treasure hunt by hiding the popsicle sticks and getting your child to find them before solving the puzzle
- Practice numeracy by labelling the popsicles with numbers instead of letters.
