Play pretend with your child with this activity! Train their fine motor skills while making their own monkey buddy, and practice counting while feeding it bananas!

MATERIALS:

  • Colored Paper
  • Googly Eyes
  • Paper Plate
  • Paper Bag
  • Glue/Tape
  • Scissors

INSTRUCTIONS

Use a paper plate as the monkey’s head and add the other parts of its face by using colored paper and googly eyes.

Cut out the monkey’s arms and attach it to the paper bag. This will serve as the monkey’s body and turn it into a puppet. Put the monkey’s head from step 1 and the paper bag body together.

Using yellow paper, cut out 5 pieces of bananas and label them from 1-5.

Be the puppeteer and have your child count the number of bananas while feeding the monkey!

TIPS
  • Depending on your child’s age, get them involved in cutting and pasting the monkey to practice their motor skills
  • Let your child get creative when decorating the monkey!
