Go over the letters that your child has learned in this fun paper balloon quiz game!

- Colored Paper
- String
- Markers
- Tape
INSTRUCTIONS

Create cut-outs of one-dimensional balloons using colored paper.

Write one letter of the alphabet on each cut-out.

Tape a piece of string to the cut-out, creating a balloon.

Un-alphabetize the balloons and place them around the room.

Ask your child to find different letters. For example, “can you find the ‘A’ balloon, can you find the ‘T’ balloon?”

Once your child has collected all the balloons, work with him or her to alphabetize them and sing the alphabet song!

TIPS- Include multiples of the same letter on different colored paper to increase this activity’s difficulty (for example, ask your child to find the yellow ‘H’ balloon). This builds and reinforces children’s letter and color recognition. Additionally, the added element of following two step directions also strengthens children’s executive functioning skills.
- If your child is old enough, involve them in making the balloon cut-outs. Ask them to trace, then cut out, the balloon’s shape from the colored paper. This fine motor practice strengthens children’s dexterity and coordination.
